The Lenny is built around our rattan play gym frame — crafted from natural rattan with the warmth and texture that belongs in a considered home. The reversible liner offers soft blues and grounded greens in a reversible windowpane design — cornflower on one side, deeper teal on the other, the look shifts with your mood or your space.

Underneath, the base and liner are triple padded — soft enough for newborns, supportive enough for tummy time, and built to last well beyond those first months.

Two loops at the base allow toys to be secured during tummy time, keeping your baby engaged without them rolling out of reach.

Each piece included in the Lenny bundle has been chosen with purpose. The toys are tactile, considered, and designed to support the developmental milestones of early play — giving your baby something real to explore, and giving you a moment to breathe.

About The Frame

Natural material, considered process.

Our rattan frames are made from natural rattan and finished with a water-based coating — the same type used in furniture designed for nurseries and children's spaces. It contains no harsh solvents, dries odourless, and is safe for use around babies and young children.

As with any natural material product, we recommend the frames are used as intended — as a play mat surround rather than a chew toy. That said, we understand babies explore with their mouths, and we've made our material choices with exactly that in mind.

From day one. Our mats are soft enough for newborns and designed to be used from the moment you bring your baby home. The triple layer of padding provides a comfortable, supportive surface for even the earliest floor time.

As your baby grows and begins to roll, the raised edges help keep them contained within the mat, giving you a little more peace of mind during independent play.

And it grows with them. Remove the frame at around 14-16 months and it becomes a generously padded play spot for your toddler, somewhere for them to read their books or play with their toys.

And the rattan frame can be turned into a beautiful piece of storage furniture with The Beyond Attachment - a simple add-on that gives the frame a second life in your home.

Ninety-nine percent of the time it will be in your living room — which is exactly why we design them to be something you actually want to have in your space. You must place your baby play gym on the floor (not a raised surface). Avoid placing it directly next to furniture with sharp corners or within reach of cords and cables.

Floor time (i.e. time spent away from bouncers, rockers, and carriers) is one of the most valuable things you can give your baby in those early months.

Time on the floor encourages babies to move freely, build strength in their neck, core, and arms, and begin to explore their environment on their own terms.

It supports the natural progression of motor development, from lifting the head to rolling, sitting, and eventually crawling.

Even short periods of unstructured floor time each day make a meaningful difference.

A baby's skin is significantly more absorbent and sensitive than adult skin, which means what's next to it matters more than most people realise. Natural fibres like linen and cotton breathe with the body, regulating temperature and allowing airflow — reducing the likelihood of overheating or skin irritation. Synthetic fibres like polyester trap heat, don't absorb moisture, and can contain chemical finishes that sit against the skin for extended periods.

The soft components of our baby play gyms are machine washable. Simply pop the liner, base and tummy time pillow into the washing machine. Wash on a cold, gentle wash and lay flat to dry (over a drying rack in the shade is best).

The toys can also be machine washed.
